Zila Pharmaceuticals

Zila Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company focused on the oral healthcare market. The company developed and marketed a portfolio of products for dental professionals and consumers, most notably the Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) oral rinse and the Atridox (doxycycline hyclate) subgingival release system. Zila also pioneered the ViziLite Plus oral cancer screening system, which utilized chemiluminescent light technology to identify abnormal oral lesions. Following its acquisition by Tolmar in 2009, the Zila dental business was subsequently sold to DenMat in 2014, where its core products continue to be distributed.
