Company intelligence / Profile preview
Zurich Biostatistics, Inc. (ZBI) was a specialized contract research organization (CRO) and biostatistics consultancy based in Morristown, New Jersey. Founded in 1999 by Michael Palmer and Cecilia Hale, the company was a pioneer in the development and implementation of electronic data standards for the pharmaceutical industry, specifically CDISC (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium) standards. ZBI was widely recognized for its "Tekoa Technology," a suite of tools that automated the generation of statistical tables and the processing of XML-based clinical data. The company's expertise was instrumental in facilitating some of the first electronic new drug applications (eNDAs) submitted to the FDA. In 2004, Zurich Biostatistics was acquired by Image Solutions, Inc. (ISI), which integrated ZBI's biostatistical and data management capabilities into its regulatory submission and compliance services.
