ZuvaChem

ZuvaChem was a private U.S. industrial biotechnology company focused on using metabolically engineered photosynthetic microorganisms to convert carbon dioxide into hydrocarbon chemicals. Its lead work centered on producing polymer-grade isoprene, a key precursor for renewable rubber and tire applications, and related carbonaceous chemicals. The company appears to have operated as an early-stage platform business built around photobiosynthetic reactor systems, engineered microbes, and associated intellectual property. In May 2015, ZuvaChem merged with BioSyntha Technology to form ZuvaSyntha, so ZuvaChem no longer appears to operate as an independent active company. The business was not a therapeutics or healthcare company, but rather a renewable/industrial chemicals venture adjacent to synthetic biology and biomanufacturing.
