Zyla Life Sciences was a specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing and commercializing products for patients living with pain and inflammation. The company's commercial portfolio featured several FDA-approved treatments, including Sprix Nasal Spray, Indocin (indomethacin) suppositories and oral suspension, and the SoluMatrix-based products Vivlodex and Zorvolex. Zyla emerged from the restructuring of Egalet Corporation with a focus on providing non-opioid and abuse-deterrent therapeutic options. The company utilized its proprietary Guardian Technology to create tablets that are difficult to manipulate for misuse. In May 2020, Zyla was acquired by Assertio Therapeutics in an all-stock transaction to create a more robust specialty pharmaceutical entity.
