Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ácido acetilsalicílico + cafeína + tiamina clorhidrato (marketed under the brand name Calmante Vitaminado Perezgiménez) is an over-the-counter (OTC) fixed-dose combination analgesic and antipyretic. Originally developed by Laboratorios Pérez Giménez in 1954, the product was later acquired by Pharmex Advanced Laboratories in 2015 and is currently marketed by Laboratorios Combix (a subsidiary of Zydus Lifesciences). Each tablet contains 500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), 50 mg of caffeine, and 2 mg of thiamine hydrochloride (Vitamin B1). It is indicated for the symptomatic relief of mild to moderate occasional pain, such as headaches, dental pain, menstrual pain, muscle contractures, and back pain (lumbago), as well as febrile states. The combination leverages the anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of acetylsalicylic acid (via cyclooxygenase inhibition), the analgesic-adjuvant and stimulant effects of caffeine (via adenosine receptor antagonism), and the metabolic support of thiamine hydrochloride.
