Overview
α-glucosyl hesperidin is a modified form of the citrus flavonoid hesperidin, produced by enzymatically attaching an α-glucosyl group to the parent molecule. This modification dramatically increases its water solubility (by up to 10,000-fold) and bioavailability compared to native hesperidin[5][6][8]. As a result, α-glucosyl hesperidin exhibits enhanced antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It is explored for potential therapeutic effects in cardiovascular health, type II diabetes, obesity prevention (notably in combination with green tea), wound healing, UV protection, and skin health[1][5][6][8]. The compound is used as an ingredient in functional foods and beverages for its health benefits; it also appears in cosmetics for skin hydration and anti-aging purposes.
