Overview

α-Syn H21 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Ruijin Hospital (Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine) for the treatment of synucleinopathies, specifically Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). The antibody is designed to selectively target and bind to pathological aggregates of alpha-synuclein (α-syn), which are central to the pathogenesis of MSA and Parkinson's disease. By neutralizing these toxic aggregates, α-Syn H21 aims to inhibit their cell-to-cell transmission and reduce associated neuroinflammation, potentially slowing disease progression. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 exploratory clinical trial to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with MSA.
