Drug intelligence / Profile preview
γδ T cell therapy is an adoptive cell immunotherapy being developed by Beijing Tri-Prime Gene Pharmaceutical in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. This therapeutic approach involves the ex vivo expansion and subsequent intravenous infusion of γδ T cells, a specialized subset of T lymphocytes that possess both innate and adaptive immune characteristics. Unlike conventional αβ T cells, γδ T cells recognize and eliminate tumor cells in a Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC)-independent manner, which minimizes the risk of Graft-versus-Host Disease (GvHD) and facilitates the development of allogeneic therapies. The therapy is designed to target a broad range of tumor antigens across various solid tumors and hematological malignancies by leveraging the natural cytotoxicity of γδ T cells.
