Overview
大柴胡颗粒 (Dacaihu Granules) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed and manufactured by Jinghua Pharmaceutical Group Nantong. It is a modernized granule form of the classical TCM formula Da Chaihu Tang (Major Bupleurum Decoction). The formulation typically consists of several herbal ingredients, including *Bupleurum chinense* (Chaihu), *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), *Rheum palmatum* (Dahuang), *Citrus aurantium* (Zhishi), *Pinellia ternata* (Banxia), *Paeonia lactiflora* (Baishao), *Zingiber officinale* (Shengjiang), and *Ziziphus jujuba* (Dazao). It is traditionally used to harmonize the Shao Yang and purge heat from the Yang Ming, often indicated for conditions involving both interior and exterior symptoms such as cholecystitis, pancreatitis, and digestive disorders. Jinghua Pharmaceutical has also explored its use in treating diabetes and urticaria (hives) through patent filings.
