Drug intelligence / Profile preview
女珍颗粒 (Nuzhen Keli) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in granule form, primarily indicated for the treatment of menopausal syndrome characterized by liver and kidney yin deficiency and hyperactivity of liver fire. This syndrome manifests with symptoms such as hot flashes, sweating, sensation of heat in the palms, soles, and chest (five-palm heat), palpitations, and insomnia. The formulation comprises a blend of traditional Chinese herbs including 女贞子 (Ligustrum lucidum), 墨旱莲 (Eclipta prostrata), 地黄 (Rehmannia glutinosa), 紫草 (Lithospermum erythrorhizon), 酸枣仁 (Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa seed), 柏子仁 (Platycladus orientalis seed), 钩藤 (Uncaria rhynchophylla), 珍珠粉 (Pearl powder), 茯苓 (Poria cocos), and 莲子心 (Nelumbo nucifera plumule). Pharmacological studies have shown that Nuzhen Keli can inhibit spontaneous activity, enhance learning and memory, prolong pentobarbital sodium-induced sleep, counteract strychnine-induced convulsions, and inhibit pilocarpine-induced sweat gland secretion in animal models. It is regulated as a pharmaceutical drug in China.
