Drug intelligence / Profile preview
密迪 (Midi) is an intravenous zoledronic acid injection developed and marketed by **Yangzijiang Pharmaceutical Group**. As a third-generation nitrogen-containing bisphosphonate, it is a potent inhibitor of osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. The drug works by binding to bone hydroxyapatite and inhibiting the enzyme **farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase (FPPS)** within osteoclasts. This inhibition disrupts the prenylation of small GTP-binding proteins essential for osteoclast function and survival, leading to reduced bone turnover and increased bone mineral density. 密迪 is specifically approved for the treatment of **postmenopausal osteoporosis**, **male osteoporosis**, and **Paget's disease of bone**. It is typically administered as a 5 mg single intravenous infusion once yearly for osteoporosis or as a single dose for Paget's disease.
