Overview
小儿止咳糖浆 (Pediatric Cough Syrup) is an approved combination pharmaceutical product developed by Hainan Huluwa Pharmaceutical Group for the symptomatic relief of cough associated with pediatric colds. The formulation integrates traditional herbal extracts with conventional chemical expectorants. It contains licorice extract and platycodon extract, which function as herbal expectorants and soothing agents, alongside ammonium chloride, a small molecule expectorant that increases respiratory tract fluid secretion to facilitate phlegm removal. Orange peel tincture is also included as an adjunct. The product is administered orally as a syrup and is commercially available in China in both bottle and soft bag packaging formats.
