Drug intelligence / Profile preview
海绵骨针凝胶 (Sponge Spicule Gel) is a product containing microscopic, needle-like structures derived from freshwater sponges, known as sponge spicules. These spicules, typically ranging from 20 to 100 micrometers in length, are utilized in medical aesthetics and dermatology. When applied topically to the skin, they function as physical micro-needles, penetrating the stratum corneum and epidermis to create numerous micro-channels. This action accelerates the natural metabolic turnover of aged keratinocytes, promotes microcirculation within the skin, and significantly enhances the transdermal absorption of active ingredients from co-administered skincare products or pharmaceutical agents. It is recognized as a natural method for physical skin resurfacing with a low side-effect profile, effectively addressing various skin concerns such as dullness, hyperpigmentation, acne, and rough texture. Additionally, the spicules possess the ability to disrupt microbial protein structures and absorb impurities due to their inherent negative charge. [5, 9]
