(R)-retro-thiorphan is a synthetic small molecule and a structural analog of thiorphan. It features a benzyl group and a sulfanyl moiety attached to an amino acid backbone. The compound is known as an inhibitor of neprilysin (neutral endopeptidase), an enzyme involved in the degradation of various bioactive peptides such as enkephalins and natriuretic peptides.
