Drug intelligence / Profile preview
0.15% guava leaf extract mouthwash is an investigational herbal formulation currently under clinical evaluation by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for the treatment of plaque-induced chronic gingivitis. The mouthwash contains an extract of Psidium guajava leaves, which is rich in bioactive compounds such as polyphenols and flavonoids. These constituents exert antimicrobial activity against oral bacteria and anti-inflammatory effects on gingival tissues.
