Drug intelligence / Profile preview
07G10 is a monoclonal antibody (mAb) developed to target human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) protofibrils, which are toxic aggregates implicated in the pathology of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2D). These protofibrils contribute to the destruction of insulin-producing β cells. The mAb is designed to specifically detect hIAPP protofibrils in serum and pancreatic islets and, therapeutically, to delay disease progression and increase overall survival by preserving β cell function in mouse models of T2D. It represents a potential diagnostic screening tool for early detection and a therapeutic approach to address an underlying pathological mechanism of T2D.
