It is designed to act as an inhibitor of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Receptor-2 (VEGFR-2), a key mediator of angiogenesis in tumors. In vitro studies have demonstrated its cytotoxic activity against several human cancer cell lines, including lung cancer (A549) and breast cancer (MCF7 and MDA-MB231). The compound's structure incorporates a 1,3,4-thiadiazole ring and a phenylurea moiety, which are common pharmacophores in kinase inhibitors.
