1-acetyl-2-lyso-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine is a synthetic derivative of phosphatidylethanolamine, a class of glycerophospholipids found in biological membranes. It can act as an inhibitor of the enzyme phospholipase A2 and also inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme. Additionally, it has demonstrated inhibitory activity against herpes simplex virus in vitro.
