1-Methoxyphaseollidin is a natural pterocarpan flavonoid isolated from licorice (*Glycyrrhiza* species) that has been investigated for its potential therapeutic applications in oncology and infectious diseases. It acts as an allosteric gamma-secretase inhibitor, binding outside the catalytic unit of the enzyme to induce a conformational change that prevents Notch1 activation. In preclinical models of breast cancer, 1-methoxyphaseollidin has demonstrated potent growth inhibitory activity against breast cancer cells and breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) without causing gastrointestinal toxicity. Additionally, it has been shown to inhibit lysoPAF acetyltransferase and exhibit antibacterial activity against *Helicobacter pylori*.
