Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of **indoximod (1-methyl-d-tryptophan)**, an oral small molecule inhibitor of the indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) pathway that modulates immune suppression in tumors[2][6][8], and **adenovirus-p53 transduced dendritic cell (Ad.p53-DC) vaccine**, a cancer immunotherapy where autologous dendritic cells are genetically modified with an adenoviral vector encoding the wild-type p53 tumor suppressor gene to stimulate anti-cancer immune responses[1][4][10]. The combination aims to enhance immunologic responses against tumors by both activating cytotoxic T lymphocytes targeting p53-expressing cancer cells and blocking immunosuppressive IDO activity. The therapy has been evaluated in clinical trials for metastatic solid tumors and invasive breast cancer[6][8].
