101BHG-D01 is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) developed by Beijing Shuobai Pharmaceutical Technology. It functions as a selective antagonist of the M3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor, which is the primary mediator of smooth muscle contraction in the airways and mucus secretion from submucosal glands. By inhibiting cholinergic signaling at these receptors, 101BHG-D01 induces bronchodilation and reduces glandular secretions. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for two distinct indications: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), where it is administered via inhalation aerosol, and the common cold (specifically for the relief of rhinorrhea or runny nose), where it is administered as a nasal spray.
