Overview

10E8VLS is a broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibody (bNAb) that targets the highly conserved membrane-proximal external region (MPER) of the HIV-1 viral envelope glycoprotein, specifically the gp41 component. It was developed as a potential agent for HIV-1 immunoprophylaxis and treatment. In clinical evaluation, it demonstrated neutralization characteristics but had a shorter-than-expected half-life of approximately 8 days and caused unexpected moderate to severe local reactogenicity when administered subcutaneously.
