Overview
10% ImCOOH cream is a topical formulation of imidazole-4-carboxylic acid (ImCOOH), an endogenous metabolite of histidine and urocanic acid. Developed by Valletta Health, the compound acts as a physiological antioxidant and reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenger, designed to modulate immune responses and mitigate inflammation in the skin. It was investigated in a Phase IIa clinical trial for the treatment of moderate atopic dermatitis, but the development was subsequently terminated.
