Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The 11-valent recombinant human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is a multi-valent biologic vaccine developed by the National Vaccine and Serum Institute (NVSI) of China, a subsidiary of China National Biotec Group (CNBG). Produced using a *Hansenula polymorpha* yeast expression system, the vaccine contains recombinant virus-like particles (VLPs) representing 11 different HPV types. It is designed to elicit a protective immune response to prevent HPV infection and associated malignancies, specifically cervical cancer. The vaccine is currently in Phase III clinical development in China, evaluated in a three-dose intramuscular regimen for women aged 18 to 45. It represents an expansion in coverage over existing 9-valent vaccines by targeting additional high-risk HPV types.
