**111In-DTPA-hEGF** is an investigational EGFR-targeted Auger electron-emitting radiopharmaceutical composed of human epidermal growth factor conjugated to diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid and labeled with indium-111. It binds the epidermal growth factor receptor, undergoes receptor-mediated cellular internalization, and is intended to deliver short-range Auger electron radiation to EGFR-expressing tumor cells. It was evaluated as a targeted radiotherapeutic for EGFR-positive metastatic breast cancer in a first-in-human Phase I study conducted at Princess Margaret Hospital and the University Health Network in Toronto. Single intravenous administrations up to 2,290 MBq with 0.25 mg DTPA-hEGF were generally tolerated, demonstrated uptake in some tumor lesions, and produced no objective antitumor responses at the tested doses.
