Overview

111In-IDEC-159 is a radiolabeled monoclonal antibody developed for targeted radioimmunotherapy and imaging in oncology. It consists of a humanized, CH2 domain-deleted monoclonal antibody (IDEC-159 or HuCC49ΔCh2) that targets tumor-associated glycoprotein 72 (TAG-72), which is overexpressed in various adenocarcinomas including colorectal cancer. The antibody is labeled with the radioactive isotope indium-111 (In-111), enabling both biodistribution studies and dosimetry prior to therapeutic administration of yttrium-90-labeled versions. The modification of the antibody by deleting the CH2 domain was intended to reduce immunogenicity and improve pharmacokinetics compared to earlier murine antibodies. Its primary indication was metastatic colorectal carcinoma, particularly metastatic microsatellite stable colorectal carcinoma[1][8]. Development has been discontinued.
