Overview

11526092 is a preclinical-stage small molecule antiviral compound developed by Collaborations Pharmaceuticals. It is an isoxazole-3-carboxamide analog of pleconaril that functions as a capsid-binding inhibitor. The drug specifically targets the viral capsid protein VP1, binding to the hydrophobic pocket to stabilize the viral shell and prevent the uncoating process required for viral genome release and entry into host cells. 11526092 has demonstrated potent broad-spectrum activity against various enteroviruses, including Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68), Enterovirus 71 (EV71), Poliovirus, Coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3), Coxsackievirus B5 (CVB5), and Echoviruses. Notably, it maintains efficacy against pleconaril-resistant strains and has shown significant reduction in viral titers and viremia in preclinical mouse models of respiratory and systemic enterovirus infections.
