Overview

11C-JMJ-129 is a novel radiotracer developed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of phosphodiesterase-4D (PDE4D) in the brain. It is a carbon-11 labeled small molecule designed to selectively bind to PDE4D, an enzyme implicated in cognitive function and neuropsychiatric disorders. The compound demonstrates high specificity and affinity for PDE4D with minimal off-target binding, as confirmed by extensive receptor screening. In preclinical studies using non-human primates, 11C-JMJ-129 showed robust brain uptake and excellent signal stability, with selective binding that could be blocked by known PDE4D inhibitors such as BPN14770 or rolipram. Its metabolic profile indicates high stability in brain tissue and favorable characteristics for PET imaging applications[1][3][5]. The primary intended use of 11C-JMJ-129 is as a diagnostic agent to visualize and quantify PDE4D distribution in vivo during PET scans[7].
