Drug intelligence / Profile preview
11C-LSN3172176 (also known as 11C-EMO) is a carbon-11 radiolabeled positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer developed for the in vivo quantification of muscarinic acetylcholine M1 receptors (M1 mAChR) in the brain. The parent compound, LSN3172176, is a potent, selective, bitopic partial agonist of the M1 receptor originally developed by Eli Lilly. 11C-LSN3172176 exhibits high brain uptake, favorable reversible kinetics, and high specific binding in M1-rich regions such as the striatum, hippocampus, and cortex. It is utilized as a diagnostic tool in clinical research to evaluate M1 receptor availability and target engagement in neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders, including schizophrenia and cocaine use disorder.
