[11C]ZTP-1 is a novel carbon-11 labeled radioligand developed by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B). PDE4B is an enzyme that regulates intracellular levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and is involved in inflammation, immune responses, and brain signaling. The tracer is designed to selectively bind to PDE4B, allowing for the quantification of its expression levels in the brain and peripheral tissues. This imaging tool is primarily used in clinical research to study the role of PDE4B in various neuropsychiatric and inflammatory conditions and to evaluate the target engagement of PDE4B-targeting therapeutics.
