11C9 VHH CAR-T is a preclinical chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting CD70, a protein highly expressed in various hematopoietic and solid tumors, including renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Developed by HRAIN Biotechnology, the therapy utilizes a VHH (variable domain of heavy chain-only antibody, or nanobody) derived from an immunized alpaca as its antigen-binding domain. The 11C9 VHH was selected for its superior expansion and cytokine production (specifically IL-2) compared to other VHH clones and traditional scFv-based CARs. In preclinical studies, 11C9 CAR-T cells demonstrated robust anti-tumor activity, expanding over 250-fold after infusion and maintaining tumor-free status in mice even after tumor re-challenge.
