Drug intelligence / Profile preview
123 Complete Cold Cough and Flu is an over-the-counter combination medication developed and marketed by Algorithm for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, cough, and influenza. The product is packaged as a combination of Day and Night tablets. The Day tablets contain paracetamol (acetaminophen) for pain and fever relief, phenylephrine hydrochloride as a nasal decongestant, and dextromethorphan hydrobromide as a cough suppressant. The Night tablets contain the same three active ingredients with the addition of carbinoxamine maleate, a first-generation antihistamine that provides relief from runny nose and sneezing while promoting sleep. Together, these components target cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, sigma-1 receptors, NMDA receptors, and histamine H1 receptors to address multi-symptom respiratory tract infections.
