Overview

**124I-evuzamitide is a first-in-class, non-invasive pan-amyloid PET imaging agent specifically designed for the detection of systemic amyloidosis.** It consists of a synthetic pan-amyloid binding peptide labeled with iodine‑124, functioning as an amyloid-specific radiotracer to detect all types of systemic amyloidosis by PET/CT imaging. In clinical trials, it has demonstrated the ability to identify multiple types of amyloid deposits—including ATTR and AL—in major organs such as the heart, kidney, liver, and spleen. The drug has received orphan drug designations from both the FDA and European Commission for use as a diagnostic in ATTR and AL amyloidosis. Its primary indication is for imaging in patients with suspected or known cardiac amyloidosis; it has also been granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation by the FDA for this use[1][2][3][4][5].
