Overview

124I-hJAA-F11 is an investigational radiopharmaceutical designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of solid tumors. It consists of the humanized monoclonal antibody hJAA-F11 conjugated to the positron-emitting isotope iodine-124 (124I). The antibody component specifically targets the Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen (TF-Ag), a tumor-associated carbohydrate antigen (Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc-alpha-O-Ser/Thr) that is expressed in over 90% of lung, breast, and prostate cancers but is virtually absent in normal tissues. By binding to TF-Ag-expressing cells, the agent allows for the non-invasive visualization and localization of malignant lesions via PET/CT scanning. This molecular imaging tool is primarily being evaluated for its diagnostic efficacy and potential as a companion diagnostic for TF-Ag-targeted therapies.
