Drug intelligence / Profile preview
124I-huA33 is a radiolabeled, humanized monoclonal antibody designed for PET imaging of colorectal cancer. The huA33 antibody specifically targets the A33 antigen, which is expressed in more than 95% of colorectal cancers and in normal bowel tissue. By labeling huA33 with the positron-emitting isotope iodine-124 (124I), this agent enables quantitative PET imaging to assess tumor targeting, biodistribution, and safety in patients with primary or metastatic colorectal cancer. Clinical studies have shown that 124I-huA33 localizes effectively to tumors expressing the A33 antigen and demonstrates favorable pharmacokinetics without significant toxicity or acute side effects. Its uptake correlates directly with A33 antigen concentration in tissues[1][2][3][6].
