**131I-labeled p97-specific Fab** is a radiopharmaceutical composed of a Fab fragment of a monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the *p97* oncofetal glycoprotein, which is highly expressed in human melanoma cells. The Fab fragment is radiolabeled with *iodine-131 (131I)*, enabling both diagnostic imaging and targeted radiotherapeutic destruction of melanoma via the delivery of cytotoxic radiation. Uptake and retention in tumors were strongly correlated with p97 antigen concentration, leading to antigen-specific localization and effective tumor targeting. Clinical trials demonstrated that intravenous administration of this drug allowed precise visualization and selective delivery of high radiation doses to metastatic melanoma with minimal major organ toxicity, making it a candidate for radioimmunotherapy in melanoma[1][2][5].
