Drug intelligence / Profile preview
131I-XH06 is a glypican-3 (GPC3)-targeted radioligand therapy being developed for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It consists of an anti-GPC3 single-chain variable fragment (scFv) precursor, designated XH06, radiolabeled with the beta- and gamma-emitting radioisotope iodine-131 (131I). GPC3 is a cell-surface oncofetal glycoprotein highly overexpressed in HCC but minimally expressed in normal tissues, making it an ideal target for theranostic applications. By binding specifically to GPC3-expressing tumor cells, 131I-XH06 delivers targeted radiation to induce DNA damage and tumor cell death, while also allowing for SPECT/CT imaging to monitor biodistribution and tumor targeting.
