Overview
15-valent Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (15价肺炎球菌结合疫苗) is a preventive conjugate vaccine developed by Beijing Zhifei Lvzhu Biopharmaceutical, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhifei Biotech. The vaccine is designed to prevent invasive pneumococcal diseases caused by 15 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae (specifically serotypes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 12F, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F, and 23F), which are highly prevalent in China and Asia. It utilizes a diphtheria toxoid carrier protein conjugated to pneumococcal capsular polysaccharides, formulated with an aluminum phosphate adjuvant. The vaccine has completed Phase III clinical trials in healthy infants and is currently under regulatory review for marketing approval in China.
