15-007 MSV is an investigational cell therapy developed by the Instituto Universitario de Oftalmobiología Aplicada (IOBA) at the University of Valladolid, Spain. It consists of allogeneic bone marrow-derived adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) that are administered via intravitreal injection. The therapy is primarily being investigated for the treatment of acute non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Its mechanism of action relies on the paracrine secretion of neurotrophic, immunomodulatory, and anti-apoptotic factors, which are intended to provide neuroprotection and prevent or reduce axonal degeneration in the optic nerve following an ischemic event.
