Drug intelligence / Profile preview
15-oxoursolic acid is a pentacyclic triterpenoid derivative of ursolic acid, characterized by the presence of an oxo group at the C-15 position. While ursolic acid itself is well-studied for its anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antioxidant, and metabolic regulatory activities[1][3][5], specific data on 15-oxoursolic acid are limited. As a structural analog of ursolic acid, it likely shares similar biological properties such as inhibition of inflammatory pathways (e.g., NF-κB), induction of apoptosis in cancer cells via mitochondrial pathways (including p53 and AMPK activation and mTOR suppression), and potential modulation of glucocorticoid metabolism through inhibition of 11-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1[1][5]. No clinical approvals or pharmaceutical products containing 15-oxoursolic acid are currently known.
