161Tb-DOTA-chCE7 is an experimental radiopharmaceutical consisting of the chimeric monoclonal antibody chCE7, which targets the L1 cell adhesion molecule (L1CAM), site-specifically conjugated with the chelator DOTA, and labeled with the therapeutic radionuclide terbium-161 (161Tb). The drug delivers targeted radiotherapy by binding L1CAM-expressing tumor cells, particularly cancer stem cells (CSCs) in ovarian cancer, and induces cytotoxicity via emission of beta particles and Auger electrons from 161Tb. 161Tb-DOTA-chCE7 has shown superior cytotoxicity and eradication of ovarian CSCs in preclinical models compared to analogous 177Lu-labeled compounds. The approach supports the goal of personalized radioimmunotherapy with potential for improved tumor control, especially in hard-to-treat or resistant cancers.
