Drug intelligence / Profile preview
161Tb-SSO110 is a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical consisting of the somatostatin receptor 2 (SSTR2) antagonist SSO110 (also known as DOTA-JR11 or satoreotide tetraxetan) labeled with the radioisotope terbium-161 (161Tb). Developed by Ariceum Therapeutics, it is designed to target SSTR2-expressing malignancies, including small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and neuroendocrine tumors. As an antagonist, SSO110 binds to a higher density of SSTR2 sites and exhibits longer tumor retention compared to traditional SSTR2 agonists like DOTATATE. The use of terbium-161 provides a combination of beta particles and short-range Auger and conversion electrons, which may enhance anti-tumor efficacy through increased linear energy transfer and localized radiation dose. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that 161Tb-SSO110 provides potent tumor growth inhibition in SCLC and pancreatic cancer models.
