177Lu-CD147 is a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical currently in early-phase clinical development for the treatment of CD147-positive metastatic lung cancer. The agent consists of a monoclonal antibody directed against CD147 (also known as Basigin or EMMPRIN), a transmembrane glycoprotein that is highly expressed in various solid tumors and plays a critical role in tumor progression, tissue remodeling, and metastasis. The antibody is conjugated to Lutetium-177 (177Lu), a radioisotope that emits medium-energy beta particles with a maximum tissue penetration of approximately 2 mm, allowing for targeted destruction of tumor cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. A Phase 1 study (ChiCTR2600117297) sponsored by Mianyang Central Hospital is evaluating the biodistribution, internal radiation dosimetry, safety, and preliminary efficacy of 177Lu-CD147 in patients who have progressed after standard therapies.
