177Lu-cm10 is a folate-targeted radiopharmaceutical developed for the treatment of folate receptor alpha (FRα)-expressing cancers, particularly gynecological malignancies such as ovarian and cervical cancer. It consists of the beta-emitting radionuclide lutetium-177 (177Lu) conjugated to a folic acid derivative (cm10) that incorporates an albumin-binding entity. This design aims to enhance the drug's pharmacokinetic profile by extending its circulation time in the blood, thereby increasing tumor accumulation while potentially reducing renal uptake. The drug works by binding specifically to FRα on the surface of tumor cells, followed by internalization and delivery of ionizing radiation to induce DNA damage and cell death.
