Drug intelligence / Profile preview
177Lu-DOTA-LM3 is an investigational radiopharmaceutical for peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT). It consists of the somatostatin receptor (SSTR) antagonist peptide DOTA-LM3 chelated to the beta-emitting radioisotope lutetium-177. The peptide targets somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2), which is overexpressed on neuroendocrine tumor cells. In clinical studies, 177Lu-DOTA-LM3 has demonstrated favorable biodistribution, high tumor uptake, and prolonged retention compared to SSTR agonists, showing efficacy in patients with advanced metastatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), including those with low or no SSTR agonist binding.
