177lu-dotatate + nivolumab

177Lu-DOTATATE + nivolumab is an experimental combination therapy that pairs a radiopharmaceutical, 177Lu-DOTATATE (Lutathera), with the immune checkpoint inhibitor nivolumab (Opdivo). 177Lu-DOTATATE is a radiolabeled somatostatin analog that selectively targets somatostatin receptor–positive neuroendocrine tumor cells, binding to these cells and delivering beta-radiation to induce cytotoxicity in tumor tissue. Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting programmed death-1 (PD-1), inhibiting PD-1-mediated immune suppression and thereby boosting T-cell–mediated antitumor immune responses. This combination is being evaluated in phase 1 and 2 studies for neuroendocrine tumors, including pulmonary neuroendocrine tumors and small cell lung cancer, with the aim of leveraging synergistic cytotoxic and immune effects to increase antitumor activity[4][2][6][7].
