177Lu-LNC1018 is a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical developed by LNC Pharma for the treatment of tumors expressing the cholecystokinin B receptor (CCK2R). It consists of a CCK2R-targeting ligand labeled with the beta-emitting radioisotope lutetium-177 (177Lu). The drug is designed to selectively deliver ionizing radiation to cancer cells, specifically targeting small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), which frequently overexpress CCK2R. By binding to the receptor, the radioligand is internalized, allowing the beta particles from 177Lu to induce DNA damage and cell death in the tumor tissue. It is currently in preclinical development as part of a theranostic pair with the diagnostic agent 18F-LNC1017.
