Drug intelligence / Profile preview
177Lu-NYM158 is an investigational, antagonist-based radiopharmaceutical candidate developed by Norroy Bioscience for the treatment of aggressive neuroendocrine neoplasms and small cell lung cancer. The therapeutic agent consists of the beta-emitting radionuclide lutetium-177 (177Lu) conjugated to NYM158, a targeting ligand that selectively binds to somatostatin receptor type 2 (SSTR2). SSTR2 is a G-protein coupled receptor overexpressed in various solid tumors. By acting as an antagonist, 177Lu-NYM158 binds to SSTR2 on the surface of tumor cells, delivering targeted ionizing radiation directly to the cancer cells to induce DNA damage and cell death. It is currently in preclinical development.
