177Lu-P17-087 is a novel radiopharmaceutical designed for targeted radioligand therapy (RLT) in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It consists of the beta-emitting radioisotope lutetium-177 conjugated to a ligand that targets the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is highly expressed on prostate cancer cells. By binding to PSMA, 177Lu-P17-087 delivers localized ionizing radiation directly to tumor sites, aiming to damage and kill cancer cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. Early clinical studies have demonstrated excellent PSMA-targeting dose delivery, favorable pharmacokinetics with rapid tumor uptake and clearance, and promising reductions in PSA levels among treated patients. The drug is being developed by Five Eleven Pharma in collaboration with Peking Union Medical College Hospital[1][3][8][10].
