1849-whole IgG is a monoclonal antibody directed against human tissue factor (TF), a transmembrane glycoprotein that initiates the extrinsic coagulation cascade and is highly expressed in various solid tumors, including pancreatic cancer. In preclinical research, 1849-whole IgG has been compared to its Fab fragment (1849-Fab) to evaluate their respective suitability for cancer diagnosis and therapy. The whole IgG format exhibits high affinity for TF, slow blood clearance, and sustained tumor accumulation, which contrasts with the rapid renal clearance and faster tumor penetration of the Fab fragment. It is primarily investigated as a tool for targeting TF-overexpressing tumors in refractory cancers.
